About
I started making films as a kid mostly using my Star Wars figures in the leading roles. At art college I made pretentious films about homelessness and council estate gangsters which I will take to my grave.
I started working as a runner on commercials, dramas and live events before being allowed to direct things myself as I worked my way up in comedy and entertainment.
In 2018, my pals Megan and Ben wrote a brilliant short called The Blue Door, we persuaded Gemma Whelan to play the lead, it got BAFTA-nominated and even watched by Steven Spielberg who optioned it with Amblin Entertainment.
I now tout myself about as a multi-award winning director and writer working across scripted and non-scripted specialising in comedy. I’ve made films, documentaries, series and content for CBS, BBC, Netflix, Sky, Google, Hyundai, Redbull, Spotify and many more.
I’m really good at not winning BAFTAs having been nominated (but not won) 4 times for different projects.
In 2024, I was part of the team honoured with a special BAFTA-award for sketch series Horrible Histories, in recognition of the cultural and social impact the show has had over the years, plus, I presume, the quality of the specific sketches I directed.
I live between Somerset and London with my wife Annabel, kids X, Y and Z (not their real names) and two cats.
